A visit to St.Isaac's Cathedral - originally the city's main church and the largest cathedral in Russia.
Now it houses a large museum. The exterior of the Cathedral barely hints on its breathtaking interior adorned with gold, semiprecious stones and mosaics, oil paintings.
The gilded dome of the Cathedral dominates the skyline of the city. The former principal Orthodox cathedral of the country is one of our most visited city landmarks.

St. Isaac's Cathedral is the forth tallest cathedral in the world, after the Cathedrals of St. Peter in Rome, St. Paul in London and St. Maria in Florence.
You are invited to climb the colonnade of the cathedral and enjoy the bird's eye view of Saint Petersburg from the 43-meter height.

Views from the top of the dome of St. Isaac's are definitely worth it. If you didn't before, I would really reccomend it! Fernando M.
